{"id":619,"date":"2016-09-14T20:29:24","date_gmt":"2016-09-14T20:29:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polkares.org\/?page_id=619"},"modified":"2022-11-08T14:55:24","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T14:55:24","slug":"sign-up","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/polkares.org\/?page_id=619","title":{"rendered":"Sign up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This page is for ARES members to sign up for Emergency &amp; Skywarn monitoring &amp; Net Control, Shelter operations or other activities as designated by the Polk ARES EC, Polk EM or their designee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Emergency &amp; Skywarn Net Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Polk EM or the NWS has notified the ARES Staff that monitoring the WC4PEM repeaters and NWS for potentially severe weather, a signup spread sheet will be linked here for operators to sign in for 2 hour shifts. \u00a0Multiple shifts may be signed up for. \u00a0Should the operator doing the monitoring be notified of severe weather, they would activate a Skywarn net using the script found under the Skywarn tab.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, should Polk EM open shelters and ARES provides operators, the net will shift from a Skywarn net to an Emergency net with Skywarn activities moved to the NI4CE system.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Emergency \/ Skywarn sign up <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1FjpIcj6HEyHhU7OQXrvTkIdaeJkNFLEo8SKpy2up3ik\/edit?usp=sharing\">spreadsheet<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Polk Shelter Operators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the Polk EM determines that shelters may be opened within Polk County, Polk ARES needs to provide operators. \u00a0Once the Polk ARES Staff is notified of the potential to open shelters, a shelter signup spreadsheet would be linked here. \u00a0Please provide your call sign, name, contact info, preferred shelter location and availability. \u00a0This will help Polk ARES &amp; EM provide operators to the various shelters. \u00a0Please be aware of the FEMA training that is a pre-requisite for shelter operators (ICS &#8211; 100, 200, 700 &amp; 800\/802).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1-uIMtf7-V68lWcz4yPbjE1EjRQSuAK83V0lB4y53wGY\/edit#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shelter operator spreadsheet<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This page is for ARES members to sign up for Emergency &amp; Skywarn monitoring &amp; Net Control, Shelter operations or other activities as designated by the Polk ARES EC, Polk EM or their designee.
